Three of our authors, A-dZiko Simba Gegele (All Over Again), Tamika Gibson (Dreams Beyond the Shore) and Florenz Webbe Maxwell (Girlcott), are packing up and heading for the Brooklyn Book Festival 2017 where they will be bringing the literary heat! Blue Banyan Books, via ReadJamaica, is collaborating with The Caribbean Cultural Theatre and Poets and Passion to present two Bookend events.
First up is The Long-Memoried Woman on Friday, September 15, 2017, in the Bronx. This all-female celebration of storytelling, heritage, and family will take over the Bartow Community Centre, Co-op City (2049 Bartow Ave – across from Bay Plaza).
Then on Saturday, September 16, 2017, we’ll be at the South Oxford Space with the annual Readings, Rum and Reasoning this year looking Caribbean writing 55 years after Independence in Jamaica and Trinidad. Saturday night will also feature Kei Miller (Augustown), Mervyn Taylor (Voices Carry) and Sophia Jones (Born of a Monster).
Of course on Sunday you can find us all day at the Brooklyn Book Festival Marketplace in Borough Hall at booth 353! Come on by.
