Diane Browne

Diane Browne

Diane Browne is a well-known Caribbean writer. She started writing for children because she found that there were no books for her own children to read which related to their lives. It was but a step to realize that this applied to all our children. Caribbean children need to see themselves in books. They need books with delightful stories which celebrate their lives. Diane Browne has written over 40 stories or books and her works have been published in Jamaica, the UK and the USA. Her story The Happiness Dress won the Commonwealth Foundation Special Prize for a children’s story in 2011. Diane Browne is also the author of Abigail’s Glorious Hair.
