Olive Senior was born and raised in Jamaica and is one of the Caribbean’s most celebrated writers. She has won numerous awards for her work, including the Commonwealth Writer’s Prize, the OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature and the gold Musgrave Medal of the Institute of Jamaica. Olive Senior is the author of Boonoonoonous Hair. Her other books for young people include Birthday Suite and Anna Carries Water.
