Owen Blakka Ellis

Owen Blakka Ellis is a writer, actor and educator who lives and works between Canada and Jamaica. Known mostly for three decades of work as a comedian, he has written for stage, screen and television as well as taught English, Literature and Theatre Arts at the secondary and tertiary levels. His first published work was the chapbook Gateman (Calabash International Literary Festival Trust, 2005) and he has been a long-running columnist with The Star. Ellis has a Masters in Environmental Studies [M.E.S.] from York University in Toronto, and has a deep interest in the intersection of gender, culture and the environment.
